It all starts in our lab, where our team of scientists explores Limosilactobacillus reuteri (formerly Lactobacillus reuteri), a unique probiotic species we’ve been studying for 35 years.
From there, our research drives innovation. Each product is carefully crafted, with every ingredient and process tested to meet our strict standards. We collaborate with experts worldwide, ensuring that what we create is backed by science. Once a product is perfected, it undergoes rigorous quality checks to guarantee it’s safe and effective, and then it’s ready for you.

Sustainability
Our Centre of Excellence is designed with sustainability in mind, utilising eco-friendly practices and materials. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint while continuing to innovate and improve our products.
Our newly constructed office building in Eslöv is certified according to the Miljöbyggnads-standard, which is a Swedish certification system for sustainable buildings.
The “Environmental Building” certification is managed by the Sweden Green Building Council (SGBC). The certification focuses on three main areas: Energy, Materials, and Indoor Environmental Quality.

Here’s how we ensure quality:
Before production begins, each batch of raw materials is thoroughly inspected to ensure they meet our standards. Only approved materials move forward in the process.
Throughout production, we closely monitor quality at every stage. This includes checking specific parameters during manufacturing and conducting detailed analyses of the final product.
Our quality and safety checks are performed by highly trained experts. If any issues arise, such as quality concerns or deviations from our standards, they are promptly addressed and resolved.
Every batch of finished products is carefully tested to ensure it meets all applicable requirements. This includes verifying the quantity of probiotic bacteria and ensuring the product’s safety. All tests are based on BioGaia’s research and regulatory guidelines.
We conduct comprehensive safety tests, including checking for any potential contaminants. These tests are performed either in our own laboratories or by trusted third-party labs.
